Advanced control

I really enjoy reviewing things I use and sharing it with you guys because it makes me feel like I'm doing y'all a service (and good service is totally important don't you think?) and because then I make the stuff that I like a little bit more popular. This next thing I'm going to share with you is near and dear to my heart, because I literally apply it somewhere close to my heart. And also because without it, I might have those unsightly underarm sweat patches. You know, the ones that seem to appear mostly when you're giving the most important presentation of your life, and you have to lift your arm to point out something and for some reason you're in a kinda fitted blue cotton top and the colour around your pits is now a darker blue and everyone is giggling and it's like a nightmare you just can't wake up from.

INTRODUCING MITCHUM ANTI-PERSPIRANT AND DEODORANT!!!

Such control.
I use the roll on in the powder fresh scent (I'm trying Waterlily soon as you can see from the picture above) which I found in Boots when I was in London and it's really affordable so I decided I'd give it a try and I will be honest, this gave me some mad advanced control of my armpit perspiration. Seriously, this shizz makes your sweat glands just say ciao for now until you wash it off. It's got some insane staying power and I don't know whether that means I'm going to get armpit cancer but hey, at least I don't smell. I think this is a total service for Singaporean people because it's the tropics and it is motherfreaking hot outside.
Hey Mitchum, I've got a rebrand suggestion, let's talk.
I think the only down side is that if you apply too much, it can form a whitish layer on your pits that makes it look like you've got mad armpit dandruff or are possibly becoming dessicated from the armpits out. Be warned. But there is honestly no down side to smelling powder fresh (or like a waterlily - to be confirmed)

The grumpy travel troll

Shirt: Asos (Similar here)
Pants: Matsuda (Similar here)
Shoes: Charles and Keith (Similar here)
Bag: Gracious Aires (Similar here)
These pants are SO comfy and I can probably stick a couple of chickens in them legs.
Necklace: Superspace (Ok seriously it's really difficult to find something similar but this is cool)
Sunglasses: Aldo (Similar here)
Ring: Gift from Alvin and Leona (Same here)
Don't you totally hate it when you're in the airport and you're waiting in line to go through the scanners and the guy in front of you who has been standing there for the past 10 minutes only slowly starts to remove his watch, his belt, his jacket, his shoes, his cellphone, his coins and all of his other various metallic bits from his person when he reaches the front of the queue. And finally when he's extracted every single metal bit from his body, only then does he slowly remove his laptop from its case, and his tablet from his bag and so on. I HATE IT. I mean, okay I get it, you might not be in a rush to get into an enclosed phallic shaped flying object but I really enjoy sitting down so I'm kind of in a rush. MOVE ALREADY.

But before you think this rant is a pointless one, there actually is a lesson to be learned here. Aside from the obvious - don't stand ahead of me in a queue because I'm a grumpy troll. I wear tons of accessories and I'd probably take quite a while to remove all my accessories to enable me to walk through the scanner without being subject to a body search, so here's a pro tip:

Wear as little metal as possible so you don't need to remove things.

Thanks for reading, and you're welcome.

Future me

Dress: Far East Plaza (Similar here and here)
Shoes: Missoni
I salute you!
Bag: Aldo (Similar here)
Necklace: Twentyeight Lane (Similar here) | Ring: Mango (Similar here)
In the future, when our cars are all hovercrafts and we travel overseas via teleportation tubes, I think that this get up will totally be our uniform. And that includes the guys. Because by then, we would have broken down all gender stereotypes and look it's just way more cooling so why not right?

Is there a point to this? No. Probably not. But am I gonna continue writing anyway? HELL YEAH. Until I get bored maybe. Then I'll go watch binge watch Parks and Rec so I can get it out of the way before Game of Thrones starts. Because once that happens, I'm basically in a GoT cave of delusion and I'm all dragons and potions and WINTERISCOMING and nothing else exists.

But seriously, how excited are you for GoT? It's making me quiver with excitement and you know, when people are quivering, it's generally a good thing.

Thanks for reading my utter garbage. And sorry. But not really.

Wipe-out pasta

Top: ASOS (Similar here)
Skirt: ASOS (Similar here)
Bag: Sabrina Scala (Similar here)
Shoes: Vincci (Similar here)
Sunglasses: Dior (Similar here)
OMG you guys. I totally wiped out AGAIN. I was walking to a cafe for dinner and the floor was wet and I slipped and fell which would have been hilarious if it wasn't so goshdarn painful. And then of course the waitress in the cafe rushed out and said, 'what happened?' as I was on the floor wincing in pain. Hmm. What do you think? I'm doing my mid evening yoga obviously!!!

Anyway, more importantly was the cafe I went to for dinner - Happenstance Cafe! My colleague told me about it so I thought I would check it out. It's a spacious and quite clean (or at least cleaning-looking) dog-friendly cafe at 35 Opal Crescent. This is my first time visiting any pet cafe and aside from falling over, I'd say it was a pretty decent experience.

The good...
  1. I had the aglio olio and the boo had a cheese and tomato based pasta and both were quite yummy
  2. We had an affogato ice-cream that also rocked
  3. The food was quite affordable, think my aglio olio cost $10 and was a good serving size
  4. You can customise your own pasta which is great for fussy eaters
  5. The dogs were mostly all chilled out and doing their own thing when we got there so Nacho didn't turn into the raving lunatic he normally is
  6. It was well-lit, and the patrons were generally quite considerate
  7. DOGS RUNNING FREELY!! WHEEEEEEEEEE!
The bad...
  1. One of the waitresses appeared to be nervous/afraid of dogs. I'm not quite sure why she would choose this place of employment. Perhaps she's trying to get over her phobia but seriously she looked panicked.
  2. Last order was at 9pm and we were a little late so they had sold out their cottage pie (for humans, dog versions still available but come on I have some standards) and their chocolate lava muffin
  3. It's all parallel street parking and not very many so we had to go around a couple of times, and you can't just wait because it's a one lane one-way street
  4. I think they only had one chef so the order comes one after the other rather than at the same time
The ugly...
  1. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, but they poop and pee at random. Which means you can be nomming away on your aglio olio and then a giant stinky turd appears under your table next to your right foot like its a gift from the heavens brought specially to you.
Final score: I would recommend. Of course I went there on a weekday night pretty late. I imagine over the weekend it might probably turn into a doggie rave.

The best stories in life are disgusting

Top: Easton Pearson (Similar here)
Skirt: Alexander Wang (Similar here)
Groovy back yeah?
Bag: Gift from Wens (Similar here)
Rings: Lovisa/Gift from Wens (Similar here and here)
Sunglasses: Ray Ban | Necklace: Gift from Diane (Same here)
Shoes: Aldo (Similar here)
I love shoes. But I hate my feet. I don't know but I think toes look really weird and stumpy and alien.  I hate the veins on my feet (especially the left foot! Thank goodness for caged booties that block all the nasty.) But most of all, I hate my toenails.

When I was working in events, I was busy running around wearing the most gosh darn uncomfortable brogues ever (they're from Aldo and I still have them but I don't wear them at length because ouchy) and the pressure applied to my big toes left them bruised. Ultimately, both the big toe nails died and fell off and it took forever to grow them back.

To add insult to injury, my right big toe nail decided to go get some unholy fungus which has left me with a discoloured toenail (It's yellow, wanna see a pic?)
.

.
Ok I decided to not post a picture of my disgusting toenail because it's so gross I just gagged.

Anyway, I didn't do anything about it because I'm supremely lazy and I just covered it with nail polish and pretended that it wasn't happening. But it was, and when the manicurist told me that my toe nail might fall out, I freaked out. It took me forever to grow it back, seriously. Not again. So I went to Sephora and spent like $42 on a magical potion (OPI Fungus Fix) that should make the fungus go away in 2-3 weeks with consistent application and also make that fungus turn into a unicorn that serves me juice (for $42 bucks I think that's only fair).
Next fix: Unicorn with juice
I know I've had your rapt attention. Suffice to say, I will share with you the progress of my disgusting feet whether you want it or not. Thanks for reading!
